III, COURSE PURPOSE

The course is intended for students starting from basic pronunciation and who want to improve their daily communication. After completing the course, students will achieve:

• Students will communicate fluently in everyday life conversations.

• Improve communication reflexes, reduce the fear of using Vietnamese.

• Ability to freely communicate on basic topics.

V, EXAMINATION

After completing the Intermediate Vietnamese 2 course, students have ability to take exams to assess their ability.

1. VINATEST – the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Test organized by Hanoi University

2. NLTV – the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Test organized by University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.

3. VIETEST – Vietnamese language proficiency assessment system for foreigners organized by University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

This book introduces to the system of Vietnamese vowels, consonants, and tones, 3 review exercises, 5 cultural lessons, the book includes 16 lessons with familiar topics in life such as: getting acquainted, shopping, weather, directions… The structure of a lesson includes conversation – vocabulary – grammar and phonics.

In 2013, Ms. Quynh Nga graduated with a Bachelor of Linguistics from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. She has 4 years of experience in teaching Vietnamese to foreigners. In addition, she participated in the National Language Seminar, presented on journalistic languages at the Institute of Dictionaries and Encyclopedias of Vietnam, at the Voice of Vietnam Radio with the seminar “Keeping the Innocence of Vietnamese.”
