In the last lesson, we learned about a question word “ gì”. It can be translated as “ What” in English. Today, we will learn another question word “ ở đâu, đâu”. Let’s start!!!
Grammar
The word “đâu” is used to ask about a place or location. It usually goes after verb of movement such as: “đi” ( to go), “đến” (to arrive), “về” ( go back to),… Can be understand as “ Where”
“ Ở đâu” is used to ask about the place where an action happen. So, “ ở đâu” usually goes with another verbs such as: “ làm việc” ( to work), “học” ( to study), “ sống” ( to live),…. and “ở” it’s mean “in/at” , “đâu” it’s mean “ where”.
Example
Anh Nam đi đâu? => Anh đi hồ Hoàn Kiếm
Bây giờ Cô Linh đến đâu? => Tôi đến Trung tâm Hanoi Academy
Chị Hà ở đâu? => Tôi ở Mỹ Đình
Cô giáo ở đâu? => Cô giáo ở phòng 201.
Ông ấy làm việc ở đâu? => Ông ấy làm việc ở bệnh viện Vinmec
Anh Kim sống ở đâu? => Tôi sống ở chung cư Keangnam
