HOW TO USE THE WORD “LUÔN, NGAY” IN VIETNAMESE

The structure “verb + ngay/ luôn”, and it’s used to mean to do something immediately. Or expresses the quickness of one action after another.

Động từ (Verb) + luôn/ngay

Anh đã đặt bàn chưa? (Have you booked a table yet?)
Tôi sẽ đặt ngay bây giờ. (I will book now.)
Khi bạn bước vào nhà hàng, ngay lập tức sẽ có nhân viên ra phục vụ bạn. (When you enter the restaurant, the staff will immediately come out to serve you.)
Sau khi học xong, con về nhà luôn nhé. (After school, you go home right after school.)
Nghe tiếng chuông điện thoại, tôi ngay lập tức bắt máy. (Hearing the phone ringing, I immediately picked up.)
Vì hôm qua tôi thức khuya nên hôm nay, sau khi về nhà tôi đã đi ngủ ngay. (Because I stayed up late yesterday, today, after coming home, I went to bed right away.)
