HOW TO USE THE STRUCTURE “TUY…NHƯNG” IN VIETNAMESE

The structure “Tuy … nhưng …” express a contrasting and unexpected relationship in cause-and-effect.

“Tuy” can be translated in English as “Although”

“Nhưng” can be translated in English as “But”

“Tuy…nhưng” is usually placed in between two sentences or two clauses in a sentence. It is used to express opposition, comparison or opposition between two pieces of information in a sentence.
