HOW TO USE “HƠI, KHÁ, RẤT” IN VIETNAMESE

“Rất” mean “very”; “khá” is less than “very” and “hot” is less then “khá” or a little. They often go before adjectives or adverbs.

For example:

  • “Rất”:  at a high level, far above normal.

– Cái xe máy này rất tốt. (This motorcycle is very good.)

  • “Khá”: at a level, a little above average.

– Cái xe máy kia khá tốt. (That motorcycle is quite good.)

  • “Hơi” : only a little, only a part

– Cái xe máy ấy hơi tốt. (That motorcycle is rather good.)

– Bài này rất khó. (This lesson is very difficult.)

– Bài số 10 khá khó. (Lesson 10 is rather difficult.)

– Bài số 14 hơi khó. (Lesson 14 is a little difficult.)
