HOW TO USE “TRÊN, DƯỚI, TRONG, TRƯỚC, SAU,….” IN VIETNAMESE

Preposition of location: used to express a place where a person or a thing is located).

1. Trên (on)

VD: Cái bút ở trên bàn. (The pen is on the table.)

2. Dưới (under)

VD: Con mèo nằm dưới ghế. (The cat is under the chair.)

3. Trong (in)

VD: Cô ấy ở trong nhà. (She is in the house.)

4. Ngoài (out)

VD: Con chó ở ngoài cửa. (The dog is outside the door.)

5. Trước (in front of)

VD: Anh ấy đứng trước tôi. (He stood in front of me.)

6. Sau (behind)

VD: Mary ngồi sau anh. ( Mary sat behind you.)

7. Giữa (between)

VD: Tôi đứng giữa Mary và July. (I stand between Mary and July.)

8. Cạnh (beside)

VD: Cái bàn ở cạnh cái tủ. (The table is next to the cupboard.)

1. CN + ở đâu? (Where?)

• Quyển sách ở đâu? (Where is the book?)
• Quyển sách ở trên bàn. (The book is on the table.)

2. Trên / trong… có gì?

• Trên bàn có gì? (What’s on the table?)
• Trên bàn có quyển sách. (There is a book on the table)
