Auxiliary verbs “hãy”, “đi” are used to form imperative sentences, the positions of which are as follows:
“Hãy” usually is at the beginning of the sentence or may follow the subject if any.
- For example:
– Hãy đọc câu số 7! (Read the sentence number seven, please!)
– Em hãy đọc câu số 8! (Read the sentence number eight, please!)
“Đi” usually goes at the end of the sentence.
- For example:
– Ăn đi!
– Uống đi!
Sometimes “hãy”, “đi” are used together with the same meaning.
For example:
– Anh hãy làm đi! (Do it!)
