Usage 1 – “bằng” (by, with)
Here are some basic examples.
You can ask questions using “bằng gì?” (by what).
Usage 2 – “bằng” (made of)
This is used to indicate the material/construction material of what is stated.
The “bằng” may be omitted to make the sentence shorter, or extended to “làm bằng” (made of) to make the sentence longer.
Note: this second usage can be substituted with “từ” or “làm từ” (made from).
