HOW TO USE “CŨNG, ĐỀU” IN VIETNAMESE

• GRAMMAR

1. Đều: A word that denotes the similarity, the identity of the activity, state or properties of many different objects. It can be translated as “both” in English.
2. Cũng: word expressing the idea of affirming the similarity of the phenomenon, state, activity, nature of the case to be raised with the cases just mentioned or compared with the previous one. It can be translated as “also” in English.

• EXAMPLE

– Anh Nam là sinh viên. (Mr Nam is student)

– Chị Lynn cũng là sinh viên. (Mrs Lynn is also student)

–  Họ đều là sinh viên. (They are both student)

– Tôi là người Việt Nam. (I am Vietnamese)

– Cô ấy cũng là người Việt Nam. (She is also Vietnamese)

– Chúng tôi đều là người Việt Nam. (We are both Vietnamese)
